The two Huawei part numbers apply to different S5700 switch variants:
- ES5D000X4S00: used with supported S5700SI and S5700EI models
- ES5D00X4SA00: used with supported S5700HI models
The extra and repositioned zeroes are easy to miss, but the cards are not interchangeable solely because both provide 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
S5700 version labels
Huawei uses LI, SI, EI, and HI labels to distinguish feature sets within the S5700 family. LI and SI systems cover more basic access and routing requirements. EI models add routing, multicast, MPLS, and traffic-analysis capabilities. HI models add higher-end hardware functions, including OAM/BFD support on applicable configurations and additional stacking options.
Feature availability varies by exact chassis and software release. Before ordering either card, match the full switch model and card part number against Huawei's hardware documentation, then verify slot and software support.
