How to Verify Cisco Serial number, Product Warranty and Coverage Status

Use Cisco's Serial Number Check tool to review product identity, warranty status, coverage dates, and support-contract information for a Cisco chassis or module.

Cisco's Serial Number Check tool shows the warranty and service-coverage information available for a Cisco product serial number.

  1. Open Cisco's Serial Number Check tool.
  2. Enter the serial number exactly as it appears on the chassis or module label.
  3. Select Check.
  4. Review the returned product identity, warranty status, coverage dates, and support-contract information.

Some results require a Cisco.com sign-in or an account with access to the relevant contract. If a serial number is rejected, recheck characters that are easily confused and confirm that the label belongs to the complete product rather than a replaceable subassembly.

The tool reports Cisco's records for that serial number. For discrepancies, entitlement transfers, or contract questions, contact Cisco support or the organization that manages the contract.
